Charter plan of registered tangible cultural property “Sekisensou”

“Sekisensou”

It is a unique Japanese garden where Shibata river flows in the center of the garden.

You can find architectures of the Meiji-era within its 1,500 tsubo (approx. 5,000㎡) site area, an outstanding garden that is not open to the general public, and the Detached room and the Tea room among them are registered cultural properties.

Itinerary

With this plan, you can charter “Sekisensou,” a registered tangible cultural property as well as “Sekisensou garden,” a registered monument for one day, one group exclusively and experience Japanese culture.

Day 1

You will visit historical places of Shibata and experience local castle town in day 1.

  • 1Gather at “Shibata Station”

    Visit to the “Shibata Castle Ruins.” Shibata castle was constructed approximately 420 years ago.

  • 2“Shimizuen Garden”

    “Shimizuen Garden” used to be a Daimyo villa of Shibata Domain and it is designated as the National Site of Scenic Beauty. “Ashigaru Nagaya” had been foot soldiers’ residences during the end of Edo-era.

  • 3“Zoshunkaku”

    “Zoshunkaku” is a guest house built during Meiji-era by an entrepreneur from Shibata and brought over from Tokyo and reassembled.

  • 4Stay

    You will stay at “Shiratama no yu Kahou, Koshinosato Annex” and enjoy Japanese cuisine and spa.

Day 2

You will experience Japanese culture at Sekisensou in day 2.

    After the event, take a private car to Niigata Station and disband at Niigata Station.
